Not all of Underwraps’s models are followers of Islam. Of the seven women on the agency’s roster, four are Muslim. The three of other persuasions—whom the agency founder, Nailah Lymus, calls “my modest models”—don’t cover themselves but are still discreet. “They might go out in a one-piece bathing suit, or boy shorts, but not a bikini,” she said. (Agency guidelines mandate that clients on jobs be provided with a single-sex dressing room, a full-length robe, and privacy from male crew members.) One of the models is an observant Jew.
