On this day in 1837, Tiffany and Co. was founded by Charles Lewis Tiffany. The piece, which was designed by Louis Comfort Tiffany, could be worn as one large elaborate necklace with pendant, as seen here, or it could be separated into discrete items and worn as a choker or a bracelet, with the pendant as an independent brooch.
