Stopped in for a quick coffee at #TheGladstone, housed in Goldsboro, NC's oldest building, built in 1857. Dunkin Donuts it's not. Before the Civil War, Goldsboro prospered owing to slave-harvested cotton and its railroad junction, which later served as a supply hub for the Confederate Army until Sherman's Union troops took over the town in March 1865 during his Carolinas Campaign. Maybe Sherman stopped by this place, too. Always cool in traveling to find these unexpected windows on the American past, like The Gladstone. Family-owned, it seems the father's voting Republican, but the daughter's leaning in the better direction, and #ImWithHer. #OnTheRoadForHillary
