I am sad to say that my beautiful and gracious Grandma Betty was laid to rest in Montana this past Tuesday, but I am happy to know that she will be reunited with my Grandpa Duane, who passed away less than a year ago. They were high school sweethearts and had been together for nearly 70 years, and I know she missed him a lot.

Grandma Betty gave so much to her community and family. She and my grandpa always did whatever they could for others, including helping me and my cousins have access to things like piano and voice lessons, sports programs, and summer camps. Of course, the greatest gift they gave us was our big, loving, and supportive family.

I am so lucky to have known all four of my grandparents and one of my great-grandmothers. Not everyone has that chance and I do not take the time I have had with them for granted. To those of you who are fortunate to have grandparents who are still around, I encourage you to tell them you love them because you never know when it might be your last chance. I'll always be grateful for having the chance to talk to my grandma on the phone just a few days before she passed.
