My friend @jon_rose, founder of #wavesforwater, is down in Haiti bringing much needed access to clean water after the hurricane. He sent me this recent update. Please consider helping if you can and check the link in my profile. ??
------------------------------------------------Today we are finally getting accurate reports on the true impact of Hurricane Matthew in Haiti. The southern coastal region is absolutely devastated. The main issue right now is access. It's all virtually impassable by land so these cities (such as Jeremie, Port Salut, etc) are completely isolated. With little to no structures left and more importantly their entire food and water supply compromised, the situation is as real as it gets. Haiti is the place that Waves For Water truly developed in, where we have done our largest scale of work. Which makes us well equipped (with very solid local teams and resources) to respond. We are launching a full scale relief initiative (lead by myself and our country director Fritz Pierre Louis), focused primarily on access to clean water for the hardest hit areas. We will also be helping to coordinate other urgently needed supplies and services (food, medical, etc). Our Matthew project page is now live (see link in my bio) and we're very grateful to any/all of you that choose to support it. Beyond the specific Matthew support, we are also putting any "general" donation (unless otherwise specified) that comes into our site for the next week or so, directly towards this initiative.
