Hi everyone! I’ve been getting a lot of questions from you all so I thought I would start something new here called #askceci Where you can ask me anything you want…in business, design, life, etiquette, parenting, juggling it all, etc…and I will do my best to answer all your questions. I love helping so leave your questions in the comments below. First up is from @duffydesignco "If you could give a newbie designer one bit of advice, what would it be?" My top advice would be to remain authentic to yourself and your own creative vision. Remember that copying is NOT OK and that there is a big difference between inspiration and imitation. As designers, it's very easy to find ourselves in a position where clients ask you to "just do this" but if we simply become order takers and copy other designers work then not only are we violating copyright rules, but we risk losing the passion, creativity and above all, the reason why you started this business in the first place - to design from your own heart, not someone else's, right?
