i've been #vegan for 29 years, and here's why:
1-i love animals and i can't in good conscience be a part of anything that causes or contributes to animal suffering.
2-roughly 50% of #climatechange is a result of animal agriculture.
3-90% of rainforest deforestation is attributable to animal agriculture.
4-over 50% of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, and most cancers are caused by animal agriculture.
5-75% of antibiotic resistance is attributable to animal agriculture.
6-50% of our water is used for animal agriculture(which in turn contributes .01% of our gdp).
7-all of the food fed to livestock could be fed to starving people. it takes 1 pound of grain to make 1 pound of bread. it takes 300 pounds
of grain to make 1 pound of beef.

p.s the picture is of Tucker the cat(being cleaned by my grandmothers dachshund George), who helped me become a vegetarian when i was 19(3 years before i became a vegan). save animals, save your health, save the planet: go vegan.
