We are completely blown away and humbled by the support we received in response to our post yesterday about @Target @targetstyles infringement on some of our designs. See our previous post for images and details. As upsetting and maddening as this is, it's your shared outrage and support that makes it feel manageable... and is exactly the reminder we needed about what's important. We feel SO thankful for all of you through this and knowing you have our back!
Unfortunately it isn't the first and likely won't be the last time this will happen to us or fellow independent designers. As an artist it's important to speak up, and as a consumer it's important to be aware. Know what your buying, be vocal about issues and continue to support small business this season.
Above is one of @stephanie_coralandtusk original watercolors. Each Coral & Tusk piece begins this way with her artwork, before she redraws it stitch-by-stitch, every detail thoughtfully considered. That is what makes it so special. We are so thankful to be able to continue to do what we do, and it is with your support that it's all possible and that companies like @Target don't undercut what we have worked so hard to create and build over the last almost 10 years.
We are currently exploring our recourse options.
And to clarify, we did not collaborate with Target, Urban Outfitters and we've never licensed our designs to any company for reproductions. We have no plans to cheapen what we've worked hard to achieve. So if you see something, please say something!! We appreciate you all helping be our eyes!
