It's a big day here in the US. ?
I've been thinking a lot about how my kids are becoming more like me, the good and the bad parts. The way I treat each child is the kind of person they will become. The things I say and do will be the model of the adult humans they will become. It's a huge burden, to be sure. I can tell them all day long to treat others with respect and kindness, but they will treat people how they see that I treat people. I've seen too much rudeness and blanket assumptions surrounding this election. I've heard my kids say things that have embarrassed me about multiple Presidential candidates. I've wondered where they heard these opinions, hoping it wasn't from anything that I said. I want them to be aware and informed, but I don't want them to be mean and cruel. ❤️
I can't change the outcome of this election, I can't control what other people say. ❤️
I CAN love my family. I can be kinder, more respectful, and a better listener to my children. #IVotedToday but I also know that I'm changing the world by raising decent and kind humans who know that they are loved by their mother. ?
