I tried comparing this to the day after 9/11, to it sinking in when Michael & Prince died, even to my own father dying...difference is I had NO PROBLEM getting out of bed. I need strength today man. To not self medicate. To not hide under the covers. I've been on the phone for 4 hours comforting the crying. I put Marley's Legend on to feel..."optimistic" I put soul train on to escape. Miles Davis' Nefertiti usually is great background fodder in sad times. Look I'm sorry for using this platform as my personal "wah whaaa" soapbox. Especially when I'm supposed to be all thought leader like....but it's gonna be a while before I accept and let this sink in. I just can't seem to get out of bed.
