I'm grateful for all the heroes. All the strong, secure, confident men who are speaking up and telling their daughters, their wives, sisters and mothers that they will stand by them. That the objectifying demeaning behavior and words that have been used and that now have been normalized are still unacceptable. But we need more support then just that. We need these brave men to be there with us when we can't defend ourselves, when we are are not in "the locker room." We need to be held on equal ground, treated with respect, dignity and to be cherished just as they would want to be treated. Thank you for all the strong men who will continue to speak up when other men are not being their best selves. Thank you for reminding those other men that they needn't be insecure and diminish others to feel strong. That anyone can be superficial, immature and shallow, that is not the definition of being a "man." From the bottom of my heart, thank you for having our backs. We need your example now more then ever.
And women, if you agree and you are also scared please don't just "like" or share, communicate with the men in your life, your male friends and family that we need them to stand with us, that we can't do it alone, and we need them to speak up too.
