FT: Brighton 1-1 Villa. Villa have secured a well-deserved point here at the Amex Stadium. They took the lead with their first real attempt 20 minutes in – Nathan Baker doing brilliantly to rise highest and head home Albert Adomah’s free-kick for his first Villa goal. But on the stroke of half-time, the in-form Glenn Murray finished well past Pierluigi Gollini to equalise. Buoyed by their leveller, Chris Hughton’s men shaded the early minutes of the second half. Steve Sidwell met a cutback and fired over before Murray’s looping header dropped onto the roof of the net from Sam Baldock’s cross. At the other end, Adomah pounced on hesitation in the home side’s defence – his low effort clawed behind by David Stockdale in goal. With clear attacking intent, Bruce introduced Jack Grealish for the final 23 minutes and he had two chances from distance in quick succession.
