This year, my 10th in New York, was a reminder of why I moved there to begin with. I am so thankful for my city, and for my friends and neighbors that inhabit it. Outsiders may think New York is cold, but secretly, it is still the warm melting pot it has always been. This month was one of the most difficult I have experienced in quite some time, and I feel so lucky to have lived through it in a place that supported me and shared my emotions. I feel safe there, and I always have. And for everyone out there that is scared for the future in the place where you live, you are always welcome in our city ?
