This photo was taken right before I threw my nose clip into the pool that i performed in for the last time in my synchro career. It was a bittersweet moment to say goodbye to a 17 year career in the sport I love, a sport that has given me some of my greatest memories but that has also tested me mentally and physically and at times brought me to my knees. Although I have always strived to be a better athlete, I hope that I have made my coaches, family and friends proud and inspired a few people along the way. I am leaving behind my life as an athlete and starting a new chapter in which I pursue my other goals and look for new challenges. I will always stay involved with synchro and the experiences I've had will stay with me for the rest of my life. I want to thank everyone who has been by my side and supported me, and even the people who questioned my skills and willpower because undoubtedly they made me fight even harder. 2-time Olympian, Collegiate National Champion, All-American...I think I accomplished everything I wanted to. ???? #bittersweet #swammer #olympian #goodbyeathletelife #helloretirement
