Time-lapse by @james_balog. Rink Glacier between June 2007 and July 2009. Located on the west coast of Greenland, the glacier drains more than 11,000 square miles of the Greenland Ice Sheet. Recent research at Rink has shown that meltwater on the ice sheet's surface can move underneath the glacier, where it laps away at the ice and speeds up melt.
