Born in Kenya and raised in London, our #WCW, 27 year old Warsan Shire (@wu_shire), was the Young Poet Laureate in 2014, celebrated for her provocative verses on immigration, identity and gender. After self publishing via Tumblr and Twitter, Warsan became huge last year when her work was recited as part of Beyoncé's 'Lemonade' album. Her first full poetry collection, 'Extreme Girlhood', is expected early 2017.
