David 'Chim' Seymour took a very broad approach to covering the Spanish Civil War. He shot over 30 stories covering not just the conflict itself, but also reporting in depth on the major social and political issues of the time, a deep insight into the country's plight which was published across European and American magazines. Of particular interest to Chim was the role of women in the war effort; he photographed them as independent and strong characters able to sustain the war.
