Real coffee was also used for a refreshing treat and a pick me up??☕️‼️ - @stephsgoodeats: - 1 c whole milk 2 c heavy whipping cream 5 large egg yolks 3/4 c sugar 2 Tbsp FlavorGod Chocolate Donut 3-4 (2g each) packets instant coffee 1/4 tsp vanilla Pinch of FlavorGod S+P - Combine the heavy cream, milk and coffee in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Continually stir until small wisps of steam come up. Remove from heat and set aside. In a stand mixer fit with the whisk attachment, whisk together the yolks, sugar and chocolate donut seasoning. Once it turns a light brown, slowly add about 2 tablespoons of the hot coffee mixture while whisking on low. - Keep adding the coffee little by little until half the mixture is used up. Next, pour the egg/coffee mixture back in the saucepan. Put over medium low heat and continue to stir until it thickens. It'll be done once it easily coats the back of the spoon and when you run your finger through the mixture, it stays separated. Remove from heat and stir in the S+P and vanilla. - Pour through a fine mesh sieve and let it cool to room temp. Refrigerate at least 4 hours. Set up your ice cream maker and turn on the gelato mode. - Pour in the mixture and start the process according to manufacturer directions. Freeze any leftovers in an airtight container.
