Harrison Coll (@hcoll1231) is only 22, but this is the 12th year he is a performer in @nycballet’s production of “George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker.” This year, he’s dancing as Herr Drosselmeier, the mysterious entertainer who makes the nutcracker dolls. A NYC native, @hcoll1231 has danced more roles in the show than any other man in the current company. On a recent Sunday, @alexwroblewskiphoto took this photo as the dancer transformed into Drosselmeier, gluing a long, handmade gray wig over his wavy blond hair. “I’m a 22-year-old trying to pretend I’m in my 70s or 80s,” he said. Just before noon, @hcoll1231 left the makeup room sporting a dramatic mustache curling out to his dimples. The makeup artist had bushed up his eyebrows, etched wrinkles into his forehead and added bags beneath his eyes. He’d aged 60 years in 60 minutes.
