RIP Cake Shop! Damn. Another venue in NYC is gone. I don't have a photo from cake shop in my phone but this was taken the same day during CMJ. Cake Shop was one of the first 5 shows I EVER played. I ended up doing CMJ last minute because I put out Everything Is Embarrassing a few weeks before on the Internet. I wasn't prepared for what was going to happen since I just put it out on my own on soundcloud & made the video for 5 dollars after it started getting attention. Suddenly I had to play 20 shows in NY and only had 4 songs that were listenable/playable/completely written. It was disastrous but I wouldn't change a thing about it. I played Cake Shop & almost puked after the 2nd song because some guy at the front was eating food covered in rank neon nacho cheese directly 1 foot away from me.The smell was extremely foul. I feel like most bands (from the last 10 years) I know have had to at least play there once. What a bummer. ::lol when @thechakeweary was my drummer::
