The internet is strange. It can be fake and corrosive to the soul. But it can also be wonderful. You don’t know me and I don’t know you and yet here we are sharing bits and pieces of our lives with one another. We’ve become well-acquainted strangers. The magic of that connection isn’t lost on me. I want you to know that I appreciate you, that I feel tremendous gratitude for your time - the few seconds or minutes you take out of your day to see what I’m up to or to say Hi - and your willingness to share such personal stories with me. That trust you’ve placed in me means everything. Thank you. I have had interactions that have changed my days, changed my mind, and changed my heart because of this community and for that I am beyond thankful. As we step into a new year I have a wish for you; that you can let go of the past, if not completely, at least enough to let your heart remain open to the possibilities that lay before you, that you can use that open heart to better the lives of others and in turn your own, that you can free yourself from the weight of what once was so that hope can flourish inside you instead of fear, and that every day of this new year you experience some semblance of contentment - within yourself and those you choose to surround yourself with. I wish for you to see yourself as I see you - someone with immeasurable power inside them, who can, at any time, wake up that sleeping beast and use it for good. 2016 was tough for everyone for a lot of reasons.
