Ending this year listening to Bob Dylan loudly on the system that's literally bringing our house down. There're deer along the pond: ears standing tall, safe but slightly on edge, grazing as the sun now disappears. There are slight clouds in the air: pinkish, gunmetal grey. America. Land of the free. Home of the brave.
I'm daring myself this year to be brave: help someone inconveniently, start a charity, volunteer at a school, paint something, write an article, remind my neighbor if they need anything to not hesitate to ask, remember those bags for when I go to the grocery store, write my grown kids a handwritten letter, kiss my wife celebrating another day of being together, remember that not all homeless are disgusting and that people of a different color and creed can one day be just as helpful as someone your same color. Be brave. Be brave not to look back and blame but be brave to look forward and do that little thing that will make yours proud. That's what I want. ebkids.org. Wavesforwater. How can I be helpful this year? How can I be brave like that greatest generation we long to be.
This has been an amazing year, a strange year, a year testing my foundation to its core. Bring it. 2017 is going to be even better. #bebrave ???
