Meet Ryan Sandes, South African extreme #runner, ultramarathon ace and superstar endurance athlete. Sandes is also the man behind Red Bull LionHeart, the grueling race up and down Lion’s Head, his home mountain, in spectacular #CapeTown. He’s been putting the devastating beauty of his backyard on the map every year since 2012, inviting 130 fierce competitors to compete for the title of King of the Hill. In his spare time, his hobbies include training for anything up to 20 hours at a time and of course leaping barbed wire fences. Oh, and he’s also the first person to win ultramarathons on every continent. But Ryan, don’t you ever crave a gentle jog on a flat stretch of road? “I find #running on a flat road really challenging and boring.” Maybe not then.
