yes i love being a powerful, strong, soft, caring, hardworking woman.
yes i love men. and being a feminist doesn't mean i don't appreciate and respect the men in my life.
that being said what's happening right now to @plannedparenthood is breaking my heart.
@plannedparenthood provided me with my first birth control at 16 and through my 20's. they taught me how to put a condom on and what std's were. they taught me why it was important to get yearly exams and it is because of them that i understood the value of being in control of my sexual health.
@plannedparenthood was my only source for sex ed available since my parents had no sex ed in Russia where birth control didn't even exist. you just got pregnant. and if you had an abortion it meant risking your life from complications. neither my mother nor father had ever used a condom let alone knew what the "pill" was. they were happy that i went to @plannedparenthood to educate myself because they could not help me.
i am the first woman in my family who was able to learn, protect, and prevent pregnancy and std's and that's because of @plannedparenthood. this is part of the american dream. you have the right to better yourself here in this beautiful country. you have the right to take control of your basic reproductive health. please stand with @plannedparenthood and prevent them from being defunded.
