For a few days now I’ve been struggling to find inspiration and the motivation to mix something to post and share with you all. I wanted my first cocktail of 2017 to be special and in reflecting I thought what could be more special than the first cocktail I ever had. Most of you have already heard this story but for those of you who haven’t my first cocktail was a “Beso de Angel”. I was about 8 yrs old and my dad took us out to a nice restaurant for dinner because my mom was traveling and he wasn’t about to cook us dinner. After dessert at our fancy pants dinner my dad ordered each of us an after dinner cocktail named Beso de Angel. When it arrived I was dying to take a sip of this grown up concoction that had been served in the most beautiful cordial glass. My dad told me to swirl the glass in order to mix the layered drink and explained to me that you drink a cocktail slowly, you savor it, enjoying every sip and every flavor. This process was magical and as a kid it was so glamorous too! Every time I take a sip from a cocktail I travel back in time to that very moment!
Beso de Angel 
1.5 oz Coffe Liqueur (I used Tia Maria) 
1/2 oz creme de cacao 
1 oz cream
