Today's quiet time musings: on offense. Not in regards to real injustices, toxic behaviors and the like, but rather the inconsequential little things in our day to day. The person who cut us off in traffic (we have all cut each other off at one point or another), the person who bought the same shoes/pens/shirt/whatever as us (why does this even matter?), when we didn't get what we hoped for (or expected). I have been on both sides of these equations and with each passing day, I learn how time is way too precious to spend on things that have no real weight. I'd rather shift the focus on gratitude, celebration and compassion. So the next time I get cut off in traffic, I remember when I've been in a hurry too. To not fear if I want to purchase something that everyone, someone or no one else has and to be excited for others when they get something I have. To cheer each other on. To realize we're more alike than different especially in our diversity. To forgive. To let go. To extend grace. To look for the silver lining. To be thankful that every single thing we go through is actually a tool that can help us become better. •
