President Trump took his first steps toward implementing his economic agenda on Monday, by ending U.S. participation in the Trans-Pacific Partnership, the accord negotiated by the Bush and Obama administrations that has been held up by bipartisan opposition in Congress amid renewed populist and protectionist fervor. Trump also met with business leaders in the Roosevelt Room at the White House to discuss stimulating the nation’s manufacturing sector.
