The amount of nasty comments I get on any given day would be enough to make anyone delete their accounts and run away to an island. Wait, I'm on island and it sort of feels like I've run away (but I'll eventually make it back). Between eggplant emojis flooding my messages with their not-so-subtle innuendo to people telling me I should be ashamed of what I do, I get it all. Everyone has an opinion about everything. And in our hyper-connected world we love to share what we think with everyone, especially the person we think it about. But none of that should stop you from following your dream. If people think you're crazy you're probably on to something. If people fight you then you know you're really on to something. In order to walk the path of your dreams you need to be strong enough to listen to the negative without taking it personal and keep going. Most of time when someone has a problem with you it's really a problem they have with themselves. We hate in others what is unresolved in our own hearts. And seeing someone freely living what is kept under lock and key inside of us makes us flip out a little. Understandably so. But you've got to be you. No one else can do it. Be unapologetically, unself-consciously, absolutely you. Don't waste another moment worrying about pleasing the peanut gallery. I don't understand why anyone would want to go around and police other people's path. It's like going to a buffet and choosing to eat pancakes while another person goes for toast and then thinking the person who went for toast is morally wrong and going out of your way to tell them so. I mean, if you don't like toast, just don't eat it. But if someone loves toast let them eat it. If you love pancakes eat them with all your heart. There's space enough in the world for all the different breakfast options you can dream of. And there's space enough in the world for all our dreams. ?
