Nothing is ever handed to you on a silver platter. Everyone goes through highs and lows. It is especially those rough patches that knock you down to the point where you start to convince yourself that you won't be able to get past it. I've had my own setbacks in skating, the only way to push past them was to #GetUp and keep working. Don't look back, keep your mind focused on the path in front of you. Last year, I went through something that I genuinely didn't think I would recover from. It took time, but with my partner and true friends, I discovered a strength inside me that I didn't expect I had. I pushed forward even when parts of my mind wanted to hold me back. We cannot control the things that happen to us or in our surroundings, no matter how much we wish we could.
