Not only is her new senior Morris adorable, but I think it's a great story showing that senior dogs can really be full of life and easily bond with their new families. HAPPY SUNDAY!! :)" writes @susiesseniordogs. -------------------- "We always knew we wanted a shelter pup, but I always thought I'd get a 1 or 2 year old dog until I started reading and learning more about the plight of so many deserving, amazing older dogs. My fiancé and I were planning on waiting until June to get a dog, but I still secretly stalked our local SPCA website looking at all the adoptable dogs. I saw Morris on there, a 7 year old adorable beagle mix with blue eyes and the shortest legs, and fell instantly in love. I insisted that we go meet him that day. When we arrived, he was wearing a cone because of a long untreated flea infestation and subsequent severe allergy, and had been biting his leg down to the skin because of itching. He was also a little underweight and had never been neutered, which looked very uncomfortable for a guy with such tiny legs! Despite his cone and sad eyes, he slowly ambled up to me and rested his hand in my palm, and clumsily clambered into my lap. We fell in love on the spot, and brought him home the following week. It's been incredible to see what a loving home can do for a dog. When we met him in the shelter, he was moving around so slowly and looked severely arthritic. Fast forward three weeks and Morris regularly gallops at full speed on walks and chases our poor cat Kyle around (though they're becoming friends). He has brightened our lives in just three short weeks and I truly believe he was meant to be our dog. I can't even explain how much joy it brings us to see him get stronger and happier everyday - it's been the greatest gift. Dasha, Jon and @morrisandkyle"
