叔母の形見の大きな手作りキルト
叔母は若い頃アメリカの男性と恋に落ちました。
時代的には勘当ものだったそうですが想いを貫いて結婚しました。
アメリカに行っても人種差別を受ける事があり、バスにも乗せてもらえなかったそうです。
それでも必死に勉強し、アメリカ国籍を取得しアメリカ人になりました。
日本に戻り亡くなるまでふたりはいつも一緒。
明るくて情に厚い素敵な人でした。
猫が大好きだったのできなこを会わせたかったなぁ…。
きなこもなぜかこのキルトが気に入ったみたい。不思議❤

This handmade quilt a memento from my late aunt.
My aunt fell in love with the American when she was young.
It was a difficult era to marry an American in Japan, but she married through the love.
She had a hard time receiving racial discrimination even when she went to America.
But, she worked hard, studied, acquired American nationality and became an American.
The couple returned to Japan and the two of them are always together until she died.
She was a wonderful person who was bright and passionate.
She liked cats so much, I wanted her to meet KINAKO.
