Munch painted outside, with snow, sun, and wind. This is his outdoor studio, which he designed himself, out of rough wooden walls. The paintings were meant to be tested against natural, unfiltered light. I am mesmerized by his directness, his ability to expose intimacy and fluidity of thinking.
