#OnThisDay in 2005, Omar Sivori died, aged 69. The creative midfielder donned the jerseys of River Plate, Juventus and Napoli. Dubbed by many as “The Maradona of the 60s”, Sivori was a star of the Argentina side that won the 1957 Copa America. He won the European Footballer of the Year award in 1961, but graced the FIFA World Cup finals on just one occasion, at Chile 1962, by which time he had traded the Albiceleste shirt for the blue of Italy.
