'The essence of migration to me is about sharing different approaches to bring about a fusion of ideas to create a unique outcome. With both my parents being from Jamaica, my father and I would sit and discuss over many hours how he managed to migrate here and create a life in a different country. London has always been a city of different ideas and influences whether it is from architectural styles, different foods or - it goes without saying - art and artists! It’s part of what makes this city so exciting for me.' ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Today we're marking One Day Without Us, the National day of action which aims to recognise the contribution of migrants to the UK. We asked Tate staff and volunteers - what does migration mean to you? #1DayWithoutUs
