Deep snow and extreme cold kick-started the second leg of Ray Zahab’s #ArcticExtreme Expedition on Baffin Island. “We started around 1pm and started skiing immediately, but it was cold. And it got colder and the wind picked up. By the time we stopped at night to set up camp, we just crashed from exhaustion,” he explains. “The next day, a terrible windstorm had set in. We were fighting winds that were going 100km an hour and battling frostbite. It took us a whole day to manage skiing just 15 kilometers.”
