This is why I love this freaking woman!!! Thank you @chelseahandler for being a chingona! I've heard this many times from people in my country of #Mexico. Fellow actors have said it to me. Family members, old friends and acquaintances. I've heard all kinds of remarks on why they find it ridiculous that I raise my voice. From "Why do you speak up if you are so well off?" to "Why don't you focus on what you do, and not meddle in things that don't affect you?". Or the famous "eres una intensa" (You are so intense)...And many more. This video by Chelsea explains why I use my voice. In regards to Mexico's or the USA's outcome today or tomorrow, I'll be fine. I'll be well off economically, socially, medically and every other way. Life has not been harsh to me, yet. What certain people seem to not get is...I don't fight or stand up for me when I speak up. I do it because I have, actually I've had, since I can remember...a calling or voice inside me that does not allow me to turn a blind eye. I have a spirit that profoundly knows that I do not need to live through the suffering, the pain, the injustice and hardships that others do to fight for these things to stop, or for others to be better off. I do it because I understand the law of reflection. I understand that I AM US. Whatever is done to you is done to me. I do it because I care, deeply. Because I can't just stand here and watch and do nothing. It's literally an impossibility for me. I've been this way since I can remember and in all the time I've been alive I've never heard or read the rule of law that says...If you are blessed thou shall not demand better for the rest. So, thank you Chelsea Handler for saying it for me...thank you sister for gifting value to the lives of others. This one is for you...?? “One's life has value so long as one attributes value to the life of others.” ―Simone de Beauvoir
