No matter what, people are going to hate on you. It's not up to you to receive that hate, it's up to you to send back love. To keep your head up and realize the only reason they are throwing so much angst your way is because something deep down in them is hurting. They are feeling something they don't know how to talk about in their day to day, so they have to throw it onto something else. I'm okay being a punching bag. I've always been one. I'll always love people, even the ones talking poorly about me. I can't help it. I don't see someone talking shit, I see a sad heart. I see someone who may not feel the best about themselves and what they are doing with their lives so they have to lash out and take it out on others. It's okay. Give those people hugs. LOVE THEM. You don't know the type of day they have had. Honestly, if I hadn't learned this when I first started cosplay I would have crumbled and folded and quit.
If you can't think of the mean commenters that way and you just see malicious, hateful people; you can also look at it from another perspective and say... "Those people are wasting the most precious resource in their human lives on you... TIME. Life is far too short and they spend all that time on YOU." Also, in a round about way you are making them happy by providing them a weird form of nasty hate filled entertainment? So you also make them happy? Hahah.
I would be lying if I said the comments didn't get to me every once in a while, but that doesn't mean I stop. Neither should you. You got this. ❤
