#KazimirMalevich was born on this day in 1878. As the founder of #Suprematism, Malevich rejected figurative representation and pioneered pure abstraction. The revolutionary artist considered his planes of color on white backgrounds a form of realism as they used the most basic elements of visual vocabulary.
