Photo by @renan_ozturk // The 'Yellow Brick Road' of conflict gold in the Congo led us to the rebel group called MAC (Movement for Action and Change) deep in the jungle of North Kivu. My preconceived stereotypes of the warlord and rebels was of hostile militants but the MAC seemed like quite the opposite. We saw a resilient community practicing self protection after hundreds of years of conflict. They had schools, agriculture and mineral mining for all in place. And AK 47s just in case. ~
