This week in Tahoe I learned something new and slightly funny about myself. While Steve's family killed it on the slopes I learned that I can't ski for the life of me. ? And, instead of enjoying our tandem snowmobile drive through the forest, I kept frantically clinging onto my seat (I almost flew out!) There was a moment on the trip when I looked at my husband and said, "Why do I even bother with this stuff? I'm better off on the sidelines sticking to what I know..." Before I could continue that dramatic sentence, Stevie stopped me and said this. He said this week wasn't about "being the best" or adding "daredevil" to my resume. It was about showing up and simply being present with the ones we love. He then explained how the adventure wasn't about conquering the mountain, it was about learning to conquer myself. (Let's face it, life isn't always going to feel comfortable and I need to be okay with that.??) This turned a new light bulb on in my spirit.?Sometimes we're too busy focusing on our performance that we forget to operate in our faith. We forget to believe in ourselves no matter how big or small the climb is ahead. I encourage each of you to take it from me when I say, YOU GOT THIS! Take on this new week, the fears and challenges ahead and CONQUER it. If you start to get down on yourself, remember these wise words. You can do ANYTHING you put your mind to.
