In this picture is a young girl and her aunty from Papatoetoe. The young girl has been following me over the last year and has been very eager to meet me. Her aunty has been bringing her to my competitions lately hoping they could meet me and finally at Auckland Track Challenge they did.
I am her hero, but in this picture the real hero is the aunty, who bent over backwards to allow her young niece to meet her inspiration.
To me that epitomises International Women's Day, teaching our young girls to chase after their dreams, chase after freedom, equality, parity.
