Happy #IWD ladies! Most people do not know this about me, but I was bullied by my bookers and agency who managed my schedule, clients, money and popularity when I modelled from age 20 to 23 in Taiwan. I wouldn't have even know what to call it if it wasn't for @jamespscully #BOFvoices talk and whistle blowing on the fashion industry. Now, I am able to look back and approach the issues of how I felt from a safe place. I understand it was abusive when they yelled that I was stupid (有骂我说我是大笨蛋) and couldn't get what I wanted unless I lost weight or got plastic surgery. They deliberately put obstacles in my way by wielding power to their profit in a shady contract and controlling the opportunities of what I could achieve. I found salvation when I went to Japan to work on an overseas booking. When I noticed how different the attitude and treatment was towards models I could no longer believe their lies. I took back my power of self worth and started to realize my dreams by taking the steps to where I am today. I do hope to return to Taiwan, my home country, one day. Until then, if you are reading this message and have received abuse before please know that you are not alone and that you too can be empowered by sharing your #NeverFade story.
