Yesterday my sister from another mister @chloebennet introduced us to Alejandra Campoverdi @ACampoverdi. We had the pleasure and chance to listen to her story and goals. She's amazing & running for congress. Get to know her. Here is a little bit about Alejandra and her inspirational story. Please feel free to spread the word! ••• A native Angeleno, Alejandra Campoverdi was raised by a single mother and by her grandmother who immigrated to the United States from Mexico. Growing up, Alejandra experienced firsthand the struggles many families in our district still face today: unemployment and poverty, lack of access to quality education and affordable healthcare, and the heartbreak of an immigration system and a juvenile justice system in desperate need of compassionate reform. Guided by the example set by her mother and grandmother, Alejandra worked diligently to challenge the potential limitations of her upbringing, and committed herself to forging a path towards education and public service. Alejandra’s passionate commitment to advocate for the advancement of underrepresented communities led to her work for The California Endowment’s Agricultural Worker Health Initiative, where she worked to improve the health and living conditions of California’s agricultural workers. Upon graduating from Harvard, Alejandra joined then-Senator Barack Obama’s 2008 campaign for the presidency. Alejandra was then appointed to serve as a White House aide to President Obama during the first four years of the Administration, initially in the West Wing as Special Assistant to the White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy and later as the first White House Deputy Director of Hispanic Media in history. #WomenUnited #Latinos #California #LosAngeles #CA34 #Campoverdi4Congress
