国立アメリカ歴史博物館のインスタグラム(amhistorymuseum) - 3月11日 06時27分

Published by the American Social Hygiene Association during World War I, this poster warned soldiers against disease. It was illustrated by American artist Ernest Hamlin Baker (1889-1975), who also produced illustrations for Time Magazine. The text says, "The man killed by GERMS is just as dead as the man killed by GERMANS." Our Division of Medicine and Science will be sharing more #WorldWar1 infection-fighters that battled everything from syphilis to typhoid this year as we commemorate the anniversary of America entering the war. (You'll also find them at #HistoryFilmForum tonight, movie fans!)
Stay tuned.
