This owl may look dizzy, but he is bobbing his head for a very good reason. Owls’ eyes are fixed in one position so, unlike humans, they can only look a certain direction by moving their entire head. By bobbing his head, this owl is gauging his surroundings, triangulating objects, and building a composite picture of his environment.
