Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Today I will be raising a glass to think of and thank all of my relatives who immigrated to America from all over Eastern and Western Europe. Who struggled enormously to make a better life for themselves and their children's children. I'm especially grateful that my Irish relatives immigrated to America so I could have all the opportunities I have now.
Today I remember that America has always been a melting pot of immigrants/refugees and throughout history there have always been those that feared change and things they don't know and understand, yet. That how we treat those who are less fortunate shows our character and humanity. And that love conquers fear, always.
And I remember green beer!
