Most people aren't aware of Keller's activism as an adult. She was an anti-war activist, disabled rights activist, a member of the Socialist party, a proto-civil rights activist and a founder of the #ACLU. The media tried to downplay and discount her activism and she fought her whole life to control her personal narrative.
