In preparation of National Fragrance Day next Tuesday with @fragrancefoundation we are honouring Penhaligon's oldest scent memory: Hammam Bouquet. Originating from The Original. A compliment to time passed. Inspired by the Turkish baths of Jermyn Street Mayfair, from which William Penhaligon first found inspiration: Hammam Bouquet, created in 1872. When trimming, amongst others, the Shah of Persia’s beard in 1871, William Penhaligon esteemed barber was fond of using a splash of eau de toilette. Hammam Bouquet was his first creation. The beginning of a long and remarkable story in smell. Ever since it has taken pride of place in the House’s ever expanding library of scents - the first, and the most daring of orientals. #penhaligons #scentmemories
