When I was just a little girl in St. Louis my father took me down to the Loop and we saw Chuck Berry at Blueberry Hill, officially making it my first rock and roll concert. I must have been only five or six years old, but the memory will stay with me forever. He was an extraordinary showman. He spoke melodies with his guitar like no other. He wrote songs like a prodigy, ahead of his time, ahead of any time. He was the leading pioneer of this amazing art form of freedom we call Rock and Roll. But to me, above all, he was a poet. The first real rock and roll poet. Long live his music, long live his influence, and #LONGLIVEROCKANDROLL
