You guys, we are getting so darned close to rolling out our new website, our new campaign, and our new sandals! Feeling like racehorses chomping at the bit. And our ambassadors are writing the best posts that are going to make you want to ditch everything and hit the trail.
Since we're not quite ready to resume publishing Trail Tales, we're going to be posting little blog teasers here—today's is from Portland-based David Faling. @thefalingfox His first post for Oboz starts, "It’s March 11th 2017; 5 months to the day since I finished my thruhike of the Pacific Crest Trail. I’m sitting in my living room, feet elevated, beer in hand, having just finished running the longest distance I have ever run in my entire life…23 miles of trail in Portland’s Forest Park; a training run for my first (of what I’m told will be many) ultra-marathons.

To call my transition back to civilian life “difficult” would be an understatement. Like many ex-thru-hikers, I have been checking off the stages of dying one-by-one.
Denial: “It’s not over”
Anger: “Why does it have to be over”
Bargaining: “If I save a lot, I can totally do a thru hike next year!”
Depression: “Will anything in my life come close to my thruhike?”
